8 Day Morocco Imperial Cities Tour From Marrakech

Upon your arrival at Marrakech airport, we will transport you to your hotel for some rest before embarking on our Imperial Cities Morocco Tour. Depending on your arrival time, we will explore the red city with the aid of a local guide, ensuring that you visit important monuments such as the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, and the Bahia Palace, among others. In the afternoon, we will visit the square, which is essentially a large open stage filled with local storytellers, dancers, musicians, and snake charmers. Afterward, you will have some free time to explore the city and its souks at your leisure before returning to the hotel for dinner and a good night's sleep.

After having breakfast, we will embark on a journey to Casablanca, the most cosmopolitan city among the Morocco Imperial Cities. This city boasts a unique blend of old aesthetics, seen in the residential blocks dating back to the 1930s, as well as modern architecture such as the Square of the United Nations and the Boulevard Mohamed V. We will visit the Great Mosque Hassan II, which is a symbol of the city's blend of tradition and modernity. At the end of the day, we will retire to a comfortable 4-star hotel for dinner and a good night's sleep.

Our exploration of Morocco's imperial cities continues as we depart from Casablanca and head towards the administrative capital, Rabat. Here, we will visit the iconic Hassan Tower, the revered Mohamed V Mausoleum, and the breathtaking Kasbah of Oudayas with its lush gardens. Our journey then takes us to Meknes, the former capital of the Ismaili dynasty, where we will see the grand Bab Mansour gate, towering ramparts, the Jewish quarter, and the royal stables. Along the way to our final destination, Fes, we will pass by the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Volubilis and the town of Moulay Driss. After a fulfilling day, we will retire to our hotel in Fes for dinner and a good night's rest.

On the 4th day of our Imperial Cities Morocco Tour, we will focus on exploring the city of Fez, which is the oldest among all the imperial cities and home to the first University in Africa established in the 9th century. Founded in 808 AD, the city served as the country's first political, cultural, and religious capital. Our first stop will be the royal palace with its magnificent golden doors, followed by a visit to the highest point in the city for an amazing view. We will then take a walking tour through the old medina to visit religious monuments and head to the artisan neighborhood to witness skilled craftsmen creating beautiful art pieces from metallic sheets. Finally, we will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After having breakfast, we will commence our journey to Merzouga by passing through the stunning Ziz valley and Errachida, with a stopover for lunch in Midelt. We will reach the hotel in Merzouga around 4 pm, allowing us time to unwind by the hotel pool before embarking on the next part of our Morocco Imperial Cities and Desert Tour. We will enjoy a camel trek at sunset through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. The camels will take us to the nomadic desert camp that we have set up where we will spend the night around a campfire with delicious food and local music before retiring to our tents.

Upon waking up in the desert, you will witness a breathtaking sunrise and enjoy breakfast. We will then ride camels back to the hotel for a refreshing shower. Our journey continues through Erfoud and Tinejdad where we will stop for lunch. We will then arrive at Tineghir and Todra Gorges where you can explore and take pictures while hiking through the canyons. Our day will end in Boumalne du Dades where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the Dades Valley and dine at the hotel.

On the last day of our tour, we will travel to Ouarzazate by passing through Skoura, and take a break for photos at Kasbah Taourirt and the movie studios. Later, we will visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah and have lunch nearby. Then, we will cross the Tizi N'tichka pass, which is over 2260m above sea level, and traverse the High Atlas Mountains to arrive at Marrakech. Finally, we will check in to the hotel and rest.
